The BIG SWO Ireland Tour

21^st-27^th JUNE 2008

Dear SWO members,

This year we have decided to take you all on a tour to the southern county of Ireland; Cork. We will be staying in a Youth Hostel which offers bed and breakfast with no curfew, so plenty of time to explore the INCREDIBLE 132 pubs/bars Cork has to offer!

Here is a brief idea of how our tour is going to look:

DAY 1: Travel by coach to Swansea then hop on the ferry which takes us across to Cork, this is approx. 10 hours on the ferry on which there is (oh yes!) a bar and free cinema. On arrival in Cork, we will check in to our Hostel and check out the Cork nightlife!

DAY 2: Take time out during the day to explore the area, the hostel is 5 minutes away from the city, so no coach needed! In the evening we will execute the mother of all pub crawls (T-Shirts will be made with all the names of bars on the back- prize for who ever can manage the most!!)

DAY 3: No early starts; chill out in the morning before a rehearsal in preparation of our first concert in the afternoon! We will be sharing the tour with a student run big band that will perform in one of the pubs in Cork in the evening!

DAY 4: EXCURSION TO DUBLIN!! We will leave Cork at about 8am for our day out in Dublin. We will be visiting the GUINNESS FACTORY and other great attractions before a concert in the capital city in the early evening. We’ll head back to Cork after evening meal and visit more of the Cork pubs and bars!

DAY 5: Free day in Cork before a themed night out!! The big band will also perform an hour set at another local pub in the evening.

DAY 6: Trip to Wildlife park where we can chill out (weather permitting) before an evening concert and our end of concert drinking session!

DAY 7: Check out of Hostel and begin our journey home. Awards and prizes to be handed out on ferry!!

The price of this year’s tour will be £190. For this price you will experience one of Ireland’s most vibrant cities with fantastic people and great music for company so get involved!

A deposit of £50 will be needed by the 5th November so REMEMBER REMEMBER!!! If we do not receive all deposits by this date we can not guarantee you a place on the tour. The tour is now open for ALL of the

members of SWO and the big band so get your deposits in quick!!
